What we do (& the way that we do it)

T’ain’t what you do it’s the way that you do it.
That’s what gets results”
— Melvin "Sy" Oliver and James "Trummy" Young 1939

Our Approach and Guiding Principles

We respect and promote ethical standards and ensure confidentiality when working with individual clients and teams.

We want to work with you in a partnership but not create a dependency.

Our ability to respond to you is a key differentiator - we will respond and will do this promptly.

Coaching

For coaching to be effective, the relationship between coach and client is key. You may come to coaching with some specific needs or you could simply regard the process as exploratory.

Sure there are lots of models, techniques and development tools that can be applied and we can explore them. There are also some key principles around confidentiality, agreeing the boundaries of the coaching relationship and establishing what you and the organisation might want to achieve.

First and foremost though we need to establish if we can work together. For an initial free of charge consultation or ‘chemistry session’ please contact us.

We can use Skype or the telephone but we recognise that clients frequently welcome the opportunity to meet face to face. On that basis we are always happy to travel to meet you at a convenient location.

Assessment

For organisations, appointing the ‘right’ candidate (be they internal or external) is -well-  just important. Likewise ensuring your talent pool and succession plan comprises the necessary blend of skills, experience, capacity and that much used term - attitude - is an ongoing challenge.

‘To some degree, talent is really personality in the right place’
Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic
Professor at University College London and Columbia University and CEO of Hogan Assessments

Matching people to organisational cultures and roles, establishing the level of fit and the capacity to grow, offers benefits to both the individual and the organisation.

We can offer  an independent perspective, be it through individual candidate assessment, development centres or detailed career development reviews. If you would like to discuss how we could work together then please contact us.

New Opportunities

We do not pretend to be recruitment consultants although we do have considerable experience in that field, albeit from the other side of the table.

Exploring new opportunities is broader than simply supporting your job search. A trained and licensed career coach can help you navigate potential opportunities. If you are experiencing transition or change, letting go of something you know well or  considering a new opportunity, then career coaching could be right for you.

Using a combination of change models and some specific career coaching frameworks, this approach will enable you to consider and articulate your own expectations. It will help you explore the challenges before determining the resources you need to commit to an action plan.

Some of the tools and exercises in this process are practical and hands on. Some can be very tangible. Refining your CV might be one of them. Others tend more to the experiential such as fine-tuning your interview skills.  And then there are the resources that help you establish or clarify your preferences, values, beliefs and drivers. There is a rich vein of resources that we can work with, all provided in a supportive environment where you determine the agenda.

If you would like to explore that agenda with me then please complete the enquiry form below or call 07824 472 798.
